Which big underdog can pull the upset on Saturday? Here's my pick:
The first Friday of the college hoops season had a litany of upsets. The two biggest upsets came in different ways. Vanderbilt (17-point favorites) fell to a mediocre Southern Mississippi team in Nashville, then Colorado (15-point favorites) trailed Grambling State for 40 minutes in the PAC-12/SWAC legacy series. I picked Detroit Mercy over Boston College as my major upset yesterday. It looked promising, but in the final possession, the Titans failed to secure the defensive rebound, and BC kicked out to Mason Madsen, who fittingly drilled the game-winning shot.
